Suave Spa Day for me

Ok, so it wasn’t a real spa day but it was as close to one as I will be getting and I have a vivid imagination! I was given some products to test for the readers here and Moms With A View so I would love to share my review with you now. I tried out the New, Vibrant Shine Shampoo and Conditioner, the Daily Exfoliating Body Wash and the Invisible Solid Tropical Paradise 24-Hour Protection Anti-perspirant/Deodorant all made by Suave. First I have to say it was such a pleasant experience I can only hope I get to do it again; actually shower without interruptions I mean! LOL Ok, ok, on to my review. I really took my time with this and made sure I took special notice of everything that I liked and if there was something I didn’t like, I made a mental note of that a well. I was fully prepared.

Starting with the shampoo and conditioner I have to say that I was very happy with both. The cost is affordable which I “love”. When I first put it on my hair I had to really take in the scent because I wasn’t sure what it was I was smelling, then it clicked, just as the bottle suggests, it is professional. The scent was that of a professional salon type shampoo, only with out the big price tag. I was very pleased with that. Did I mention the cost of this experience would be $2.49 (ish) each so far? Next was the conditioner. I usually don’t like conditioner because it takes forever to dry afterwards but the hot summer heat does a number on my hair so I usually condition it every other shampoo. With the same scent as the shampoo, I was again in faux beauty salon heaven. After rinsing my hair, the conditioner left my hair feeling very smooth, but I would have to wait until it dried. I do not blow dry my hair, ever, so this was a test to see how long and how straight it dried.

Ok, so now on to the body wash. OMG, I am so loving this body wash! Anything that smells like coconut in the summer makes me happy. It makes me feel as if I am on a vacation and after being in the shower for as long as I was with out a child interrupting me, it really felt as if I was on a real one! I love, love, love this body wash. I think I will name it my new favorite summer product! With the exfoliating ingredients and the cocoa & shea butter, it left my skin feeling so smooth and clean. My shower smelled like the Bahamas! It was amazing!! So far with all my three products I would probably cost around $7.50ish for this spa moment, which is totally do-able because I can capture that feeling and moment for at least another few weeks each time I enter the shower!!!

But my happiness did not end there, oh no it didn’t!!!! I also tried out the anti-perspirant/deodorant! Lucky for me I got the Tropical Paradise scent and that just totally sent me through the roof! How perfect of a review is this? I am not one for solids but I did enjoy this one primarily because of the scent. As well as it worked, I am just not so sure I would get it again, but if they made it in a gel, I’d for sure get it. The one thing that I did really like and don’t ask me why because there is no real reason, but I like the dial at the bottom of the deodorant bottle, it was not just a little turn dial, the whole bottom turned. Like I said, I can’t explain that one, but I love that part, lol! Oh, one more thing, it did not leave any white residue on my clothing…another plus! With regards to the solid, that is just my personal preference but if you like solids this would be the perfect end to your faux spa day!

All in all, it was truly a time to relax, take in every moment by myself, for myself and I really enjoyed every moment, every scent and product. BTW, my hair dried beautifully after the conditioning treatment. It dried smoother than it had in a long time! Usually it is a bit frizzy on the ends but not this conditioner! It left it smooth and flat, even my ends! Even my husband commented on how smooth my hair felt. Now, that right there has to say something about how well this product is! For anyone’s husband to notice the softness of a wife’s hair, that speaks volumes for sure!

Thanks Suave for letting me test out your products! I would highly recommend each and every product I tried.

Baby Swags looking for clients for LA Baby Expo 2009

Source: http://babyswags.blogspot.com

I wanted to give you a little information on the 2009 LA Baby Expo and some preliminary pricing. We still have quite a bit of time, but it does go by fast, and when you are preparing products for over 20,000 people to see, it can be quite stressful.

As I mentioned earlier, I learned a lot from doing that one show and I now know some changes I would like to make and need to make to insure that everyone has a great turn out.

For the booth location, it was an island location and not having any backdrops was a challenge, so for that reason, I am opting to do either 2 corner booths and 2 inline booths or 4 inline booths. Each booth will be shared with another company and you will have the backdrop to hang any signs you may have.

I am going to say right now because I don’t have the final cost but it will be any where from $970.00 (at the low end) to $1100.00 (high end) per company depending on the booth location. Please note that this price may change and a breakdown will be available once I get the final info from Seascape. That would cover the booth & any PR done by me.

There will be a giveaway each day that would require products and I will be there to help in any way I can. You will be listed in the LA Baby Expo directory under your own name.

You are responsible for the purchase or bringing in of your own tables, chairs, and drapes. The draping I would like to coordinate, but that can all be discussed at a later time. You will receive all that information from the Convention group handling the expo. Last year was around $100.00 for a table, two chairs, draping and garbage can.

If this is something that is of interest, I would need to have a deposit of 50% to hold your spot, and the balance will have to be paid I believe by the end of the year.

Any questions, please let me know. It will only be open right now to 7 more companies and if needed we will open more booths up to accommodate the new companies. Of course since this is all preliminary information, things can and will most likely change, but it is done so to give you an idea of cost, what is involved, and what will be exected. Please feel free to email me or call with any questions and I will answer them as I can.

Suave Kids – 2 in 1 Swim & Sport Product Review

First I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Cristy and I am the mom to an active 3 year old who loves to spend time in the neighborhood pool. We had the wonderful opportunity to test out the product made by Suave, for kids, called the 2-in-1 Swim & Sport shampoo. With spending a lot of time in the pool, most will know that the chlorine and various chemicals can damage adult hair but don’t forget about the damage that is done to a child’s hair. Their hair is baby soft on a normal day but after many days in the pool it becomes coarse and not so pleasant to touch. We gave the 2-in-1 Shampoo a try for 7 days. We always wash hair after a day in the pool, which is everyday, so for us, we were consistently using the product.

I was very pleased with the citrus scent as it was kid-friendly and it wasn’t overpowering for a little one. With the Suave name backing this product, it was ophthalmologist tested and is also tear free! Anyone with a toddler knows that they cannot get anything, and I mean, anything into their eyes when you wash their hair. From day one, this shampoo left my daughters hair smoother than our other shampoo and it felt as if it was restoring her previously chlorinated hair. I can happily say that it met and perhaps even exceeded my original expectations. Retails for around $2.50-3.00, I would definitely ditch my other kids shampoo’s and stick with what works for my baby girl.

Oh what a deal

That was sung in my best “Oh what a night” voice. Yeah, so I went shopping this weekend! I had so much fun too doing it. I got a lot of deals and I wanted to share them with someone, so lets make that someone you!

First I went to Jewel to get The Dark Knight movie tickets. See, when you purchase 10 General Mills products you get a coupon code that allows you to get two free movie tickets. Well due to cashier error, I ended up with more codes than I was supposed to get. Faulty cash register I am assuming. In any event, I was supposed to get 6 free tickets and I ended up with 10. I gave one pair to my brother, so I had 4 codes good for 8 tickets. Still a good deal for me. With all my coupons and such I ended up spending about $10.00 for 32 products and 10 movie tickets. (10 bags of chex mix, 10 bags of cheerio mix, 10 boxes of yoplait yogurt-gogurt and 2 loaves of bread.)

Then on to CVS. I ended up getting 10 bottles of Sally Hansen nail polish for free. Ended up spending more there than I wanted to, but that is ok, it doesn’t happen that often. I thought I was going to get overage but that didn’t happen. I could return the b1g1 free lipsticks! LOL

Walgreens, buy one Loreal Vive get one free, used the coupon in today’s paper for B1G1 Loreal Vive for free shampoo! πŸ™‚ YAY!!!

Better yet, I get home to enter in all my movie codes expecting to get 8 tickets to print out and instead I find out that there are no participating theaters in my area so I was given the option to search for another zip code or get a prepaid visa/debit card valued at $25.50…well, heck yeah, don’t have to ask me twice, I am snatching up that visa/debit card! I will have mailed to me $102.00 worth of Visa/Debit cards (in 7-10 days)! Not sure what they can and cannot be used for, but what ever it is, I’ll take it! πŸ™‚

It was all in all a great shopping day for me.

Welcome back!

I don’t know what I was doing or where I was but I am back now! πŸ™‚ This week I will be posting some great product reviews from a couple of our friends, adding a few new recipes, sharing some shopping tips and of course, a little about my hectic life raising three children, two businesses and one rapidly growing puppy.

Thank you for being so patient as I try to get myself back on track after the long 4th of July weekend! πŸ˜‰
