Happy Birthday to my little one!

Today is my baby girl’s birthday. ¬†She turns 4. ¬†She is an amazing little creature I must say. ¬†She is annoying beyond belief, however, she has such a unique personality that it just sets her apart from her siblings. ¬†My oldest daughter is the “girly girl”, my son, who is the ‘middle child’ excels in baseball, math and any video game, while Gianna is a complete tomboy with a cute sensitive side. ¬†She loves to play in the dirt, and then come in and feed her baby. ¬†She loves to skateboard down the driveway on her stomach making a crash landing into the garbage cans, and then she loves to get her nails polished. ¬†She has no fear and definitely is not afraid to try different things. ¬†She is always on the go, is very active, loves baseball and football (which makes dad very happy, me, not so much), then she loves to sing and dance. ¬†She is completely a well rounded child and it couldn’t make me happier. ¬†She is my adventure, my wild child, my¬†fantastically¬†fun child and even though all her brave adventures and activities make my heart do¬†somersaults, I couldn’t be more blessed. ¬†She makes me laugh, cry and more importantly, proud. ¬†She has a great heart, is helpful, shares well (on most days…shesh, she is only 4, lol) and is just a bundle of love. ¬†I knew from her early entry into the world and all the problems I had encountered while pregnant, that this one, she would be a free spirited child that would give me a run for my money.

Sister Site: Baby Swags Celebrates it’s 2nd Birthday with New Services!

Happy Birthday to Baby Swags!

Baby Swags is going to be celebrating it’s second birthday on September 9th, 2008. We have helped over 100 companies take a leap into celebrity gifting at an affordable rate. Many of the companies that have sought the help of Baby Swags have been in business one year or less and have been started by work at home moms, aka WAHM’s. We have gifted over 300 celebrities through individual giftings and larger event giftings. All products included have been created and/or invented by mom making our giftings unique in itself.

With our growth comes changes and expansion. As of September 1, 2008 we will be supplying our client as well as our celebrity Baby Swags followers with many new additions. Our immediate plans will include the following:

* Providing our fellow WAHM’s and readers with tips and information on marketing your home based business on a shoe string budget.

* Product Reviews for all members of the family. These reviews will be broken down into different categories that will allow us to provide readers with targeted product information. Our categories will include, Belly Bags that will contain products for the expecting mom such as maternity wear, creams and jewelry, etc… We will have a category for books, daddy’s, the older child and siblings, Nursery & Decor and General Gifts, such as candles and sweet treats. Product reviews are open to any company that is looking to further their businesses.

* We will provide our readers with various monthly giveaways that will most likely be those that have been posted as a review. These items for giveaway will total $25.00 or more and will be sent to winners directly from the designer/manufacturer. More information will come soon

* Radio shows that will consist of WAHM interviews, chats with guest speakers, business advice, weekly call ins and more.

* YouTube video’s of various events will be uploaded and shared. Now you can get a behind the scenes look at what many of us WAHM’s do on a daily basis.

* Newsletter for those that are interested in the products that celebrity new moms have been sent, sales and different offers that are made available only to our newsletter subscribers.

* And finally expand our levels of marketing and pr for clients that will include extra services for trade and consumer shows that Baby Swags participates in, such as LA Baby Expo, product pitching and press releases.

Overall we will be adding extra levels of security for confidential information that will require clients and potential clients to sign a confidentiality agreement that is based on ethical guidelines as stated in our code of ethics pledge.

MWAV is on a mission and we need your help!

Moms With A View is on a mission and we need your help! You may be out of the baby stage, but that doesn’t mean you cannot assist us as we venture on to a new mission. We cannot give you too many details, but the next time you go into a fast food chain take a peek in their bathrooms and see if there is a changing station in any of the stalls or anywhere in the bathroom for that matter.

If you go into a fast food restroom that does not have a changing station, please use the form below and let us know all about it. By filling out this form, it will allow us to move forward with our mission to make it mandatory that all fast food chains have a changing station in at least one of it’s stalls or main customer bathrooms.

Think of it this way, as I was watching my nephew, I took my child and him to the local fast food chain for lunch. Guess what happened! Oh no, the baby pooped, as I would have expected from a newborn. I had to go and change him because I just couldn’t let him sit in it right? On to the bathroom. When I get in there, guess what! There was no changing station anywhere to be found. What is a mom to do at this point? Where does she change her baby? Well, I took my nephew and laid him out on the bench at the table and changed him there, 1. because I was pissed that there was no where to change him, and 2. that in order to change him in the car or what have you, that would require me to pack up, get my daughter together and force her to stop playing. While I was doing this changing, I was wondering how many other parents or caretakers were forced into this unhealthy and unsanitary procedure. I began to start taking notice of just how many fast food places do not have changing stations. Why is this? They simply are not mandated so in efforts to, I don’t know, cut costs, they omit this important station. What happens if your child picks up an e coli bacteria from unsanitary changing procedures? Don’t you find it unhealthy and gross to know that you cannot even change your baby in this place or that place? Don’t you feel that all food establishments should be forced to have a changing station, especially those places that are geared towards and target children of all ages?

Please help us with this mission by taking notice yourself and reporting back to us. We are taking this very seriously because we do not want any more children to be harmed by this disgusting, and unhealthy changing practice.

Please take a moment and fill out this survey form. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via email.

Did a little CVS shopping…I mean, saving!

Man it’s been so long since I have been inside a CVS that going today got my blood pumping up all over the place! I am trying to master the grocery shopping game and have been doing pretty good with getting the deals worked out and tackled with the help of some other groups out there. So today after our doctors appointment I ran quickly through the aisles of CVS and this is what I scored…

This is how the transaction went down:

I can now go back and get more of the childrens advil and keep rolling my ECB’s!!!

My first decorated cake!

I have always wanted to take a class in cake decorating so when a neighbor of mine said she signed herself up for the class, I jumped in on it too. We are taking it at Michaels and it is a Wilton cake decorating class. The instructor told me that once I learned how to make these cakes, I will never want to buy another store made cake again! So when I heard that, I was all pumped up!

We had to make our own buttercream frosting and cake to bring to class. Of course I was not prepared and forgot the cups and toothpicks. Luckily there were nice classmates who learned how to share 20-30 years ago.

Frosting was pretty good I must say. I was happy with how it turned out. I of course was happier not knowing what was in it and how it was made, but being the sweet toothed person that I am, I can learn to live with this knowledge. I will post a separate recipe for that next so you can see for yourself how to make it. *Very easy to do*

Frosting my cake took a moment to get used to and I had to stand up to do it. Decorating it took a bit longer to get used to, but I think I did a good job seeing it was my first attempt at a more professional look. We could have used different colors for the flowers but I was lazy and went with all one color. My neighbors did great as well. It was a fun, stress free night and one that was much needed after my weekend!

Here is my first decorated cake….
